BIO

Daniel Tyrone RiddickI’m grateful to have a life in which I’ve been privileged to pursue my passions and collect some amazing experiences along the way. At the age of 22, I joined the U.S. Army, fulfilling a long-held childhood dream. In 2005, I was deployed to Iraq as commander of A Battery 3/133 Field Artillery. While there, I was honored to receive the Bronze Star Medal, which is awarded for either heroic achievement, heroic service, meritorious achievement, or meritorious service in a combat zone. After 30 years of active and reserve duty, I retired with the rank of major and began a new chapter in the dynamic city of Houston.

In this exciting time, I’ve enjoyed honing my expertise in the captivating craft of photography. It’s an avocation I find both exhilarating and humbling. The art of capturing a meaningful moment in time is simultaneously surreal and sensational. It’s one that requires a combination of creative vision and technical skill to successfully achieve.

Inspired by my love of that challenge and those people who have seen incredible talent in my work, I’ve gradually transformed what began as a hobby into a business. In this endeavor, I apply the same invaluable discipline, integrity, leadership, and quest for perfection the military instilled within me. I enjoy continually sharpening my proficiency through ongoing classes and instruction with accomplished photography mentors. It’s a never-ending journey that is infinite in its possibilities.

MY APPROACH TO WORKING WITH CLIENTS

The scope of my services is broad. It includes but is not limited to photographing weddings, babies, landscapes, sporting events, and a variety of concert genres such as R&B, country and classical. I view my work with clients as a creative partnership. First and foremost, this involves listening to their objectives for a project and learning the details that are important to them. Based upon this, I formulate ideas and suggestions on how to best attain results that will capture the mood and look for the desired outcome. No two projects are ever the same: each one is customized to the unique style, wants and needs of my client.
